Refashion : Bow Front Dress
I almost gave up trying to find something on the dress section until I picked this one out. It didn't scream attention at all (well it didn't looks quite pretty on the hanger) but that's what I love when I thrift shopping. I know I have a weird taste or (some says) a good eye for design.
This is how it looks like on the dress form. It kind of reminds me of my mom's dress in the 80s.
Front bow details. I'm a sucker for it.
The fabric is too thick for a bell sleeve, so it weighing it down.
I made some minor changes to it, The dress is too big on the shoulder and neckline, so I shorten the shoulder and taken up few inches on the armhole.
Then I shorten the sleeve and add elastic to make a short puffy sleeve. Finally I shorten the hem a few inches, so it ends just above my knee.
The final look
The waist fits me quite nice after I had taken up few inches on the shoulder. Overall, it's an easy and quick refashion. Now lets move on to the next project.
