Cami top for summer
Lately I've been seeing a lot of cami top on my Instagram, especially the Ogden Cami by True Bias. I know it's the perfect top for all year long summer in Borneo. So I self-drafted the pattern from my bodice block / sloper. I took all my pattern books out and find something about sleeveless top, adding some ease on the bodice, watched a lot of Youtube tutorial on how to make a strap - one of my biggest fear, which is why I never made anything with straps before.
I did it and I made a cami top. This is my first muslin, I never expected that it turned out better than I was expected. Only a minor changes - the armhole was too big. 2 inches lower than I preferred. So I adjusted the strap to be slightly shorter than my initial plan, the neckline was higher, but it was still a wearable muslin.
I was determined to made another of this cami top and I found this pretty Pua Kumbu motif, my husband got for me (for free) 2 years ago. It was only 1 meter of satin fabric, but I used every part of the fabric, including the black strap. *I should probably take a picture of the fabric first before I cut it.
You can see that the neckline was slightly lower compared to the old one, the fabric are much drapier too. It was so smooth against my body, too bad I didn't have more of these fabric, I would absolutely made another variation of this cami and turn it into a cami dress.
